Vulnerability & trust

The narrative always was: We need to trust each other and then we can be vulnerable.

It can’t be more wrong.

It’s the other way around: When we show vulnerability, we earn trust.

So resist the temptation to be perfect with your audience (whether it’s your tribe, partner, colleagues, kids, leadership or pet).

Be imperfect. Don’t hide mistakes or perceived weaknesses. Be vulnerable.

Being vulnerable is being strong.

Happy to quote a Master in the area:
“Vulnerability doesn’t come after trust—it precedes it. Leaping into the unknown, when done alongside others, causes the solid ground of trust to materialize beneath our feet.”
