Time is not a constraint

I often catch myself articulating that my biggest constraint is time.

But it’s not.

Our biggest constraint is perspective. And here’s why.

Achievement is a science.

You follow the rules, you get the result, it’s that simple.

And it is that simple.

Getting a result is simple, you just have to execute.

So why is it that so often we don’t get what we want?

It’s because we can’t choose.

We desire too many results.

We think it’s important what we’re going to eat and wear. What our manager or spouse thinks of our car and, how this season of the next series is going to end.

Perspective is our biggest constraint.

Perspective on what is important. To us.

Therefore we need to align with our values more.

Instead of just doing today what we’ve done yesterday.

We need to think. Know what’s important to us, and also why.

How? Decisions. Only then, the result of gaining perspective will be clarity.

Clarity about what we should and should not do because things are or aren’t aligning with us.

Clarity about why we should do it. Only then, clarity will result in focus.

And when we have laser focus, things become really easy.

Less becomes important. More becomes a distraction.

If you lack time, your focus is on too many things.

Focusing on fewer things makes life easier.

Focusing on one thing: more easier.

So.

Next time you have too little time, you will need to make a decision on what to focus on less.

And if it’s too hard to choose a ‘what’, it’s time to go to your ‘why’ first.
