I read 200+ books on leadership, personal effectivity, growth, culture and life, and here’s the 1 lesson I’d take away:
Give yourself permission.
To grow.
Fail.
To ignore everything else.
Do what you like.
To take responsibility wholeheartedly.
To be ok if it’s not ok.
To own whatever there is to be owned.
To be rude and unfair and bold.
To be everything you think your parents hope you aren’t.
To believe what no one beliefs.
To own instead of be ashamed.
To be patient when everyone else is angry.
To be angry.
To be a beacon of hope.
To be an example of good.
To say right when right doesn’t seem an option.
To ask for help.
To ask your customers about you.
To be a perfectionist.
To be indifferent.
To be ignorant.
To go to market when it feels unready.
To travel the world.
To get out of bed early.
To sleep in and never go to bed before 12AM.
To right your wrongs.
To bend the rules.
To find your why.
To make a marathon out of the sprint.
To eat last even when it means there’s no food left.
To know that your thoughts can be owned by no one, even not by a violent oppressor.
To know impossible is nothing.
That’s the no.1 learning.
Give yourself permission.
Because no one is going to do that for you.
