Resolutions

If you are like I am, you seek better.

But better, for who?

2020 was a year full of gratitude for what I have and often take for granted.

Like working in an office with wonderful colleagues.

A healthy born baby, she’s 4 months old now.

Some of the finest friends in the world.

A wonderful family.

A roof above my head.

Health.

A car to drive.

A bicycle to ride.

Ambition.

Awareness.

The feeling of significance.

The feeling of relevance.

People around me to help.

And all this that I have is placed in contrast in a split second, when I hear about or see about the intense painful things that happen around us in the world.

We live in the most connected time of all times, but there are things I will do better next year.

Take the time to build, deepen and strengthen meaningful connection.

Enhance awareness for the things I have. Instead of the things I keep seeking, but don’t fulfil my need to fulfil a craving itself.

Stop and look around, when the obvious decision is to race and get away.

And just as I looked back into my reflections, my 2019 values came around. And I tend to write them again for 2021.

Gratitude

Optimism

Generosity

It provides me with such direction, deepening the meaning of each word as my life journey continues.

And there’s one word I’ll add for 2021.

Leadership.

Helping myself and others move forward in life, work, creativity, vulnerability, change, change making, believing, hoping, coping, making it to the next phase, or being just where they are. Leadership is my next stop in life, and I’m curious to explore that theme.

Here’s to a better 2021.

Stay safe.
