Falling behind

Creating a pile of work is a trap.

When we tell ourselves ‘not now, I’m busy with something else’, we actually mean ‘I am afraid that if I only do/ship this small piece of work, it’s not enough’.

Well, newsflash, it’s never enough if you keep striving for perfect.

Instead, today, more than any day, its time to strive for progress, in order to make the change you seek.

The work will never pile up if you keep showing up and doing the work that’s here for you today. Nothing less than doing something, imperfect. Progress.

And if piling up the work is the trap, searching for solutions for the falling behind isn’t the solution.

Falling behind is just a narrative, created by institutions that measure how well you can learn for the test and not how well you actually do in your work.

Falling behind is self talk. You telling you that you haven’t done enough earlier.

Instead of that you will do better today.

Both don’t matter.

What matters is that you bring out your minimum viable effort today and do the work. You came here with a reason.
