Since the start of the Corona period, to me it seems like there’s more polarization and opposing opinions than ever.
We call out other people on their opinion, and we judge them for it. Instead of being curious and finding new grounds together.
Then we go back to our social and news apps that give us more of what we read yesterday and only say yes you are right with your opinion.
Ultimately, I believe that in these times we have two things at the heart of our lives. Trust and belief.
Belief in in something. For example, I believe in love, in systems, in coincidence, in respect, in perspective. And other people believe something else, like a God or science or maths.
The trust in things, that everything will be allright even though the definition of alright might change. That people don’t lie to you. That everyone fights for their beliefs and that we now fight for the same. That people do things for the better.
I’m using a Corona-notification app that (anonymously) tells if you were close to someone else who had a positive test on a certain day. The app strongly advised me to stay home for 5 days.
I now have to trust the creators of the app (government), the app working fine and that I have indeed a risk of having Corona with no symptoms. Our trust and belief we have, and no one can take that from us as long as we protect it.
We must build our whole life on trust and belief in these challenging times.
