One of our greatest illusions is that we can control the story we are in.
Our story unfolds, and we only have so much power to influence that ourselves.
A gigantic part of what we were, are, and will become is compiled of luck and coincidence. Only the last (few) percent is willpower, perseverance, and bravery.
What we can influence for 100% though, is the narrative.
The story we tell ourselves about the story we’re in.
Even though that narrative is just a fairytale we tell ourselves, it hugely impacts the last few percent of what we will become: our willpower, perseverance, and bravery.
