Devote your day to one thing

That the first thing you think of in the morning is that specific thing you want to achieve. A goal, and not an optional one.

We devote our days to a long list of stuff, and what we discover is that we only get the shortlist done. And sometimes not even that.

We’ll help ourselves enormously if we change that status quo and stop wanting to do the long list.

Look at the 3 things you want to achieve today, and scratch the other 2. It’s going to be one thing today. One sole focus. No distraction.

If you’ve achieved that thing, it’s onto the next one. But at the same time: Don’t get your hopes up. Most of the days you won’t get one thing done.

I’ve found that the choice to scratch all other things off of your list. To actively reject them for today: that’s when you find focus and you can devote to one thing. Not the other way around.
