From 2012 there were rumors, “Amazon will come to The Netherlands”.
March 10, 2020 marks a new era in the craft of Dutch online retail.
Facebook got Hyves on its knees in 2013 when the Dutch got to meet an international superpower in Facebook.
Everyone predicted that that event was impossible, only 2 years before that.
Now Amazon is here.
Whatever everyone predicts: If you sell products (and some services), today is a good time to rethink your business and the value chain.
Any business model in The Netherlands that only adds value by buying and selling a product is doomed. Amazon can do that faster and cheaper.

- Information
- Price
- Convenience
- Speed
- Flexibility in terms
- Safety
- Status
- Loyalty (which in fact is a combination of some above)
Amazon is not going anywhere, so what are you going to do?
