Realizing that it’s over

My stomach ached for the last week. Quite bad.

So oftentimes we realize we have something going on.

We engage and connect with the feeling.

Pity ourselves.

More self-pity.

But on Thursday it was gone!

And I only noticed Thursday night.

What wasn’t there (ache) was there for the whole day. And I failed to notice.

We notice stuff that is there, but so often we don’t notice what balances the scale.

What’s not there.

When it’s over.

Who’s not in the room.

How we’re not driving.

This made me wonder.

What else don’t I notice, that isn’t so obvious as pain?
