Since the beginning of June, I stood up every morning at 5:30.
Early bird gets the worm.
It worked. Actually, it worked like a charm.
I was productive for the first 2 hours of my day. Every day.
That’s 10-14 hours a week of high-quality deliverables. Without sacrificing anything.
Well. I didn’t manage to go to bed earlier.
So some days (1 or 2 a week) I slacked. And that was ok. Habit still active.
Until the beginning of July, sleep deprivation kicked in (ergo, my post on this).
I began to pick up bad habits. Eating too much. Drinking alcohol more often. Coffee. Carb cravings. Loss of focus.
That’s when I decided to quit. Cold turkey. At the beginning of July.
And since then I fought a small week of depression, negativity, and all the new bad habits, with my back-bone of pleasant routines. Meditation, sports, reading, writing, communicating, sleeping.
We’re approaching August. And I’m seriously thinking about getting back on track with this habit. But now, for 1 or 2 days a week.
To be continued…
