Now that retail via Amazon (and sites alike) keeps growing in this infinite loop, I can’t help but being curious where our human need for ‘human’ advice will go, just as the personal shopping experience.
When we used to order online in the 00’s and early 10’s, we would have an online meets retail experience every now and then. Genuine advice by greatly written website copy/video. Or opportunity to call a human for advice.
Amazon dismisses all that. It’s price and shipping time only.
Will my future favourite running shoes will only have 1628 5-star reviews on Amazon and then I buy? Will they have 203.824 likes on Instagram and then I buy?
Or is there still room for this amazingly wonderful kind of (online) store, where they write me a hand written card and send me a small, relevant, personal present with the order?
Time will tell.
