Doing something for nothing

A muscle needs to be flexed to maintain strength.

When we do something reluctantly, we might think “what do I do this for”.

The thing is, even if you think it’s for nothing, it never is.

Because if you didn’t add any value, as you might think at that time, you’ve flexed the muscle and grew.

Muscles are simple though very complex things, you must understand that.

When you accidentally delete your work and need to redo everything. You might think it was for nothing.

When put in extra hard work but still missed the podium. You might think it was for nothing.

Let’s not forget that at the root of everything, there’s our human desire to do something meaningful.

And I believe flexing a muscle for the purpose of flexing it, is amongst the meaningful things.
