It’s not that candles shine more light than halogen lamps or are better than LED.
It’s certainly not safer.
It’s not more money efficient.
Neither is it more time efficient to get done.
So why do we still use this format of lighting?
Probably because they give us a cosy and warm feeling.
We light candles because they are close to unfailable (unlike light) and they light up a room different than lamps do.
And lastly we use candles in traditions we honour already for centuries.
Candles are truly a format that stands the test of time.
Today we don’t use candles so oftentimes. But there’s still a (large) niche audience.
We need to find our minimum viable audience and deliver them a format.
Chances are that if that happens, our format has the potential to last.
