Making progress every day

When I asked Seth to elaborate on making progress every day (referring to shipping his blog every day for numerous years now), he was resolutely, and his answer was certainly remarkable. I wrote it down below, let the text speak for itself..

“Every single day, I get to do this work.

I don’t have to do the work, but there is work to be done.

No napping is allowed.

You’ve got today, now what will you do?

And the problem is, if you have too much freedom, you just end up not producing.”

Moreover he said this

“The blogging every day is ‘oh, it’s tuesday i need to write a blog post for tomorrow’.

And the podcast is every week, and our partners say you guys say you need to take a 3 week break between seasons.

And I say no, I can’t take a 3 week break between seasons because there’s a podcast every week. That’s what we do.”

A final say.

“I don’t work as hard as anyone thinks, I just don’t waste time to things that aren’t on the list.”
